The CONA program provides hands-on optical networking knowledge required to plan, design and deploy high quality fibre optic networks that are scalable, cost efficient easily adaptable to meet the ever-growing bandwidth demand in the industry.
Designed by Optical technical raining (OTT), with MEED as Africa delivery partner, CONA is a 5 days intense course programme that focuses on on networks that use either a single channel per fibre, or multiple channels using CWDM and DWDM technology, providing typically up to 10 or 25Gb/s per channel and up to 80 channels per fibre. This may include metro or core networks, mobile backhaul/FTTA, DATA Centre Interconnect (DCI), or dark fibre links and long haul systems that use fibre amplifiers.
As a CONA certified engineer, you will acquire the knowledge of what is required for satisfactory system performance of such networks and how the performance can be affected by the properties and the quality of the physical fibre infrastructure including such issues as attenuation, chromatic dispersion and polarization mode dispersion (PMD).
